about

I wrote "Sinking in the Sand" while working at one of a number of nondescript, soul-sucking, dead-end jobs in Chicago. It's hard to do that every day and watch the time slip away from you, so you might as well write a fun song about the experience, especially if you can write it while on the clock! It's about what it feels like to sit at a day job all day, longing to escape into the more fulfilling world of your real passion. I guess it's kind of the "Ballad of the Day Job," in a way.

about

The Stoplight Roses Atlanta, Georgia

The Stoplight Roses are a rock'n'roll band from Atlanta, Georgia. Taking their name from the Nick Lowe song, and with a nod to The Jesus of Cool's vintage style of songwriting, they combine equal measures garage, power-pop, indie rock, and country.
